Innovative Ways to Make the Most of Your Cardboard Containers

Most manufacturers ship their materials in cardboard containers, and most of these containers are very dull with nothing more than their company name on the front and not much else. While you may not think of cardboard container design as an opportunity for marketing and advertising, consider how many people see them in the course of one delivery. There are probably dozens of persons who handle those boxes while they're en route, and others who may see the boxes once they've made their way to your customer. It's good to make the most of those containers when it comes to branding and advertising, so note a few innovative ways to do that and make your containers more eye-catching.

1. Use graffiti

Do you sell clothes or other items that might appeal to an urban crowd? If so, use graffiti-like lettering and graphics on your boxes. This can make them stand out from other boxes that use simple business lettering and dull pictures, and they're sure to get noticed. This can also increase your brand awareness as being products that are meant for this type of crowd.

2. Create a suitcase

If you sell anything that relates to travel, such as suitcases and overnight bags, maps, tourist brochures, and the like, create a suitcase design with your cardboard container. Use travel stickers that you would see on a suitcase and design what looks like hinges and a handle around certain sides. This will evoke the feeling of being on the road with your creation.

3. Create a dispensary

For products that are edible or that your end customer might use one at a time such as vitamins, dog treats, and so on, create a dispensary with your cardboard box. This means cutting a lip at one end so that the product can be dispensed right from the box. When you do this, the box becomes constant advertisement for your product. Your items are less likely to be transferred to another bowl or container when a customer can take it right from the box.

4. Make it a puzzle

If you really want people to look at your cardboard containers, create a puzzle of some sort on the front. This can be a simple "find the hidden object" or math problems. People may be more likely to actually look at the container and keep looking at it if they're challenged; in turn, they may be more likely to remember your company's name, logo, website, and the like, just from your packaging.
